The bitter truth about sugar. The bittersweet truth.
The truth is that we have been conned. We have all been conned into this sugar-coated science. And the most shocking (albeit late) truth is that sugar can be found in most of the food that we eat on a daily basis. Historically, sugar was used in its unrefined, raw form, taken directly from sugarcane juice. Clarified juice was boiled to a crystalline solid, broken down into gravelly masses and consumed as sugar. Today, however, much of the commercially available sugar is chemically processed and refined. According to the United States National Institutes of Health, such refined sugar provides “empty calories” because the refining process removes almost all vitamins and minerals, drastically depleting the nutritional value of the sugar. In fact, there are at least 60 different names for sugar on food labels and this makes it easy for sugar to sneak and hide in most of these food labels. People on this planet are growing sicker every day (and they are still eating dead animals?), as they follow a routine of buying unsuspecting products that are marketed in such a way that is both convenient and readily available on the shelves. This is really insane. And these are all the processed food that might also cause diabetes, obesity, cancer, fatty liver, depression, metabolic disease, heart disease, high blood pressure and cholesterol diseases. It was said that the average adult consume more sugar than necessary, and our dear government has even declared war on diabetes a few years ago. So now if you stop to ponder, how did we, or as a society end up in this situation?
The truth is very obvious. And yet again, the answer is very simple.
