COVID-19 as the name suggests, is Coronavirus Disease 2019.
Many people have compared this with SARS but I foresee a greater impact. In fact, there is still no definite vaccine at this stage and there are more reports coming in during this Chinese New Year period. Most of the reports reveal that the virus originated from wildlife, but there is also a conspiracy theory that it was leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
No matter what was the cause, we (as the human race) got off to a very bad start this year and I just hope a vaccine could be developed fast to stop this from becoming a pandemic real soon. I would not be surprised that Singapore would upgrade it's DORSCON level in less than one month time while the contact tracing is still developing. This would have a big impact to the economy and let's be resilient and fight this war against the virus.
