I have been thinking of death lately. No, I am not pessimistic but every one of us will eventually die. I am just thinking what and how should I (or collectively as a family unit) plan for my death. Thinking out loud, these are just some of the topics I was pondering.
Death > As in the moment I die (I hope I die in my sleep, so my family can save money!)
Mourning > I hope my family has fully assimilated the Buddhist values and not mourn too much for me. Life is impermanent after all. And I will be back. Sooner or later.
Garment > Maybe something simple. I am going to become compost anyway!
Body > I heard you need to embalm my full body? No?

Human Organ Transplant Act (HOTA) > If I am not mistaken, this is a mandatory enrollment scheme by Singapore. But whatever, take anything you want, if it's still functional.
Medical (Therapy, Education and Research) Act > Seriously, I do not exactly know what's the difference between this Medical Act as compared to the previous Act.

Portrait > That is assuming if I want my family to conduct a wake for me. It doesn't really make sense to me. What are they going to do with my picture after that?
Coffin > I find this to be a waste of money based on the assumption that it is going to be burnt anyway. There you go, another environment impact on mother earth.
Wake > I heard the minimum is 3 days and I seriously do not want my family to be too bothered over this. Why lose sleep over one death?
White Gold > Maybe my family can set up a donation link to one of our preferred charity organizations. Maybe, let's see.
Burial > Impossible in Singapore, and I also think it's not environmentally friendly.
Cremation > Highly possible, unless some smart alec can suggest otherwise.
Compost > This is my wish that Singapore can implement body composting into a tree.
Time > I hope I can save my family and friends some time, so maybe my immediate family can just post that I die and the details online. We are going digital these days, right?
Environment > This is my ultimate wish. Use less resources on my death please!
